Prospective Students

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child in St. Patrick School. St. Patrick School has offered a challenging education and living faith to students for more than ninety years.

Continuing renovations and a new addition provides the modern amenities and technology for the ultimate educational experience. The administration and faculty strive to bring out the full potential in each child's individual giftedness, focusing on the "whole child" in an environment of spirituality, academic excellence, values and discipline.

Admission

Open registration begins in February. There is possibility that some classes will be closed because of class size. Per School Board Policy, students will be admitted in the following order of preference:

  • Siblings of current students
  • (Students entering Kindergarten only) Students in St. Patrick Parish and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in New Melle who have attended the preschool/pre-k program at St. Patrick’s
  • Children of parishioners of St. Patrick and Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle that reside within the parishes’ boundaries (priority given to the length of time the family has been actively registered* in the parish, if necessary)
    For those families who are new to our school and are outside St. Patrick and Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle parish boundaries, we will accept them into the school under the following conditions:
    • Must make appointment to speak to out pastor, Msgr. Patrick O’Laughlin.
    • They must receive written permission from the parish where they reside to join St. Patrick Parish
    • Catholic children who are non-parishioners will be charged non-parishioner rate
    • Non-Catholic children, based on class openings, after July 15

*Actively registered members mean they are sharing their time, talent and treasure.

Lunch
Students may participate in the hot lunch program offered daily or they may bring their own lunch. The cafeteria offers many homemade items and full-service salad bar daily.

Before and After Care
An on-site Before and After School Care Program is available for all full-time students. Our staff and aids provide study help for students. The morning hours are 6:45 a.m. until school opens. The afternoon hours are 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.


Tuition K-8

Tuition is set by the School Board, Finance Committee, Pastor and Principal each year and can be found on the registration form.

Tuition is paid with automatic deductions thru FACTS in one of the following ways:

  • as a single payment by July 1 with a 2% discount unless paid by credit card
  • two payments (July/December)
  • 10 monthly payments (July/April)
  • 12 monthly payments (May/April)

In addition, a registration, book and playground fee and is paid by families at the beginning of the school year.  Families are also required to generate at least $200.0 in revenue for the Home and School organization. This can be done in either a $200 cash donation or participating in Home and School Fundraisers and Scrip sales. There are several fundraisers sponsored by the organization in which a family can generate money toward this obligation. Scrip is available through church and school on a weekly basis.

The religious education program at St. Patrick’s offers the students many opportunities to grow in faith:

While traveling on I-70, take Exit 209. Travel N for .2 miles. The school and church are located on the left side of the street. During school parking is available in front of the church.
